Two things changed. We papered the accent wall, then painted the other walls and the ceiling to match the paper. The sink, the mirror, the pendant, the toilet and the floor are all the same ones. Matching the paint to the paper is what keeps a room this size from reading as one bold wall and three that do not know what to do.

This was extra space that was not doing anything. We finished the drywall, painted, built out the closet system, and put in new flooring and baseboards. The square footage was already in the house. It just needed a purpose.

The old ceramic came out, the slab was ground flat, and wood-look ceramic tile went down continuous through the downstairs. Baseboards came off and went back on after the floor was in.

Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore on the front door, inside and out. A deep charcoal that reads dark without going flat black, so it holds its own against the brick. One door, and the whole entrance looks finished.

Same doors, same carpet, same trim. A lighter wall color and the hallway stopped feeling like a tunnel. Hallways connect every room in the house, so the color you put there follows you everywhere.

Warm yellow walls through an open two-story plan, taken to one light neutral so the entry, dining and living rooms read as a single house. Ladders and drop cloths for the tall walls, careful tape at the arches and stairs. The paint did the rest.

Beige granite and the old backsplash out, white quartz and new tile in. New fixtures and lighting, and the walls and ceiling repainted. We seal the room before anything comes out, so the house stays livable while we work.

New cabinets. New design. A completely different kitchen. New counters, backsplash run to the ceiling, new hardware. Every surface in the room changed. Sometimes refinishing is the right call. This kitchen was the other kind, where the design itself needed to change.

This one was not surface work. The wall had failed, so we took it back to the studs and rebuilt it, then tiled and finished on top of the repair. Most of what we do is finishes. When a job needs more than that we say so, and we do that properly too.
